Metagaming / Powergaming

Metagaming

Defined as ‘role-playing games, which describes a player's use of real-life knowledge concerning the state of the game to determine their character's actions, when said character has no relevant knowledge or awareness under the circumstances.’

Example: You gain knowledge of a person's whereabouts in the city due to their text in 'OOC' or /do.

No member should use knowledge gained IRL, that their roleplay character wouldn’t have known in that situation/scenario. This includes, but not limited to:

  • Stream Sniping

  • Using information learned from streams

  • Information from 3rd party applications (such as but not limited to discord).

Powergaming

Defined as 'Consisting of achieving end game results (getting the highest and most favourable output possible), while ignoring everything else that constitutes the games as a whole.

Example: You have just committed an armed robbery in 24/7. The cops quickly catch you and look at the CCTV. You lie in your CCTV stating that you were just a bystander in the shop.

This rule is also in play to the effect of:

Vehicle Modifications

  • Repairing your vehicle and continuing to use it during a scene (for example police pursuit) is extremely unrealistic. Therefore during a scene, you should only repair or change any aspects of your vehicle after 10 minutes have passed since conducting a crime.

Person Healing

  • All members should not utilise 'armour spamming' where their lives is in immediate danger. Therefore - for example: you should not be utilising armour when you're getting shot and realise you don't have it.
